Mmm... Wedges

22 November 2013

Feeling hungry? Same.

Got a spare potato and about an hour to spare? Brilliant.

Fancy a not-so-quick but very easy way to make your own wedges? Okay.

Mmm... Wedges

1. Pre-heat your oven to 220 degrees Celcius. (For fan ovens go for 200)

2. Wash your potato, cut it in half and then cut it into wedges. It doesn't matter if they're not the same size, because who really has the time to care about that? Just make sure the sizes aren't too contrasting (bigger wedges will take longer to do, and smaller ones might just burn - advising from, erm... a friend.

3. Put a bit of oil in a bowl, and then dip your potato wedges in. Make sure they're covered, but in a thin coat and place onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

4. Season them with salt, pepper or whatever you've got in the cupboard really, and then pop them in the oven for 15 minutes. Then turn them over and put them in the oven again for 10-15 minutes. They should be crispy, and smell amazing...

BONUS STEP I: Check them 5-10 minutes after you've turned them, and don't necessarily just wait for the full 15 because yours might get just a little burnt.

BONUS STEP II: Make a dip for yourself whilst the wedges are cooking. I opted for a simple cream cheese but hey, the world's your oyster,  go wild if you want to.
