Florrie - Too Young To Remember // Track Of The Day

12 January 2015

You may or may not know that I'm a little bit in love with Florrie. The model/drummer/synth-pop goddess has released 4 amazing EPs over the past few years, and now she's on her way to releasing her debut album - churning out a couple of bloody good singles along the way. When I heard her new single/video were dropping today, there was a solid 92% chance I'd love it, and it'd instantly be promoted to my Track of the Day... and here we are.

'Too Young To Remember' references a number of 80s and 90s motifs and features Florrie's trademark layered vocals and infectious hooks. It appears as a generally fun pop-song, with a chorus reminiscent of Icona Pop and Charli XCX, but also has a sense of empowerment behind it, encouraging you to not only dance around in your bedroom but, to paraphrase, get what you want.

The song has been visually matched up with a brilliantly retro video, full of colour, and so many throwbacks you can't help but feel nostalgic about the good old days. She rocks a number of different looks, from grungy to bubblegum to an ingenius 'Florrie Says Relax' t-shirt... brilliant. Also, Florrie's only gone and teamed up with H&M to promote the track and their Spring collection, which'll be great for exposure and may finally catapult Florrie to the top of the charts, like she ruddy deserves.

I'm seeing her live in a couple of weeks so expect another post then, but for now check out the new video below!
